At AVEM AERO, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive General Sales Agent (GSA) services for charters, we also offer full OCC support, helping airlines maximize fleet utilization and profitability. Our expertise lies in replacing the sales departments of airlines, leveraging our extensive sales experience across diverse geographies and cargo types. This case study illustrates how we significantly boosted efficiency and profitability for our client, AIREST, by optimizing the use of their SAAB 340 aircraft.
Customer Profile
AIREST is an airline with scheduled flights and a fleet that includes the SAAB 340 aircraft. As is common in the airline industry, there are standby periods between scheduled flights on an aircraft's regular program. During these periods, AIREST missed out on potential profits as they struggled to arrange additional charters without disrupting their existing schedules, leaving valuable aircraft time underutilized.
Challenges Faced
AIREST faced the common airline industry challenge of aircraft downtime, with their SAAB 340 sitting on the ground for up to 12 hours between scheduled flights. Maximizing the use of this idle time without disrupting scheduled operations was critical to improving profitability. However, AIREST didn’t have a dedicated sales team with operational experience to handle the complexities of arranging charter flights during these gaps.
The airline needed a reliable partner to manage the complex logistics of arranging additional charter flights during the aircraft's downtime. Key needs included: ● A sales process involving toresponding of up to 100 charter requests per day, each requiring a rapid response—within 5-10 minutes—to deliver accurate solutions to clients.● Coordinating every aspect of the charter, from ground handling and slot approvals to checking airport operating hours and many other changes from a client. The nature of the automotive industry meant dealing with frequent changes, often every 15 minutes.● Accurately scheduling cargo loading and unloading within a tight timeframe of 12 hours.Handling HOTAC (Hotel Accommodation) and crew transfers efficiently.● Managing operational costs (DOC) without overrunning the limited ground time.● Mitigating the risks associated with these logistics to ensure seamless operations.

AVEM AERO took on the roles of both sales and flight support for AIREST, providing a complete, end-to-end solution.

We also finalized contracts with all vendors involved, including those for cargo, logistics, and other necessary services.
Flight Operations Support: Our team of experts meticulously managed the flight support details. This included handling, slot coordination, obtaining permissions, communication with airports and fuel services, creating accurate loading schedules, managing HOTAC (hotel accommodations) and crew transfers, and coordinating ramp and cargo handling. We also handled operational costs (DOC).

Results Achieved
The collaboration with AVEM AERO resulted in significant benefits for our client:
Increased Profitability: By efficiently utilizing the aircraft's downtime for an additional charter flight, AIREST could generate additional revenue without incurring significant extra costs without requiring AIREST to hire additional sales or operations staff.
Efficient Fleet Utilization: Our expertise ensured the SAAB 340 aircraft was utilized to its full potential, reducing idle time and increasing operational efficiency by 20-45%. This allowed us to add an extra 25 to 50 flight hours per month, all within the tight 12-hour window between the aircraft’s scheduled flights.
Risk Mitigation: Our thorough planning and execution minimized risks, ensuring that the charter flight was completed without any delays or disruptions and met the tight 12-hour standby period for the additional charter flight.
Through our partnership, AIREST experienced a notable improvement in both profitability and operational efficiency.
